The corresponding law was signed by Kazakhstan President Kassym-Zhomart Tokayev.

The receiving party must inform the migration service of the arrival of the foreign guest within three business days from the moment of entry into the country.

The ministry has simplified the notification procedure for a foreigner’s stay in Kazakhstan, noting that visits to the migration service departments are not required.

When a foreign citizen stays in Kazakhstan for more than 30 days, hotels, hostels, rental apartments, medical institutions where he stays are required to issue a guest a temporary residence permit.

In addition, on 30 December 2019, a government decree was approved to extend the 72-hour visa-free regime for the entry of citizens of China and India until the end of 2020.

In addition to the Nur-Sultan and Almaty airports, this regime will operate at the airports of Shymkent, Aktau, Karaganda and Taraz. At the same time, the opportunity to carry passengers under this regime was also provided to foreign carriers.

The specified decree entered into force on 1 January.
